When temperatures climb, it's important to take steps to stay safe in the heat.

✔️ Drink plenty of water, even if you don't feel thirsty
✔️ Take frequent breaks in air-conditioned spaces
✔️ Limit strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day
✔️ Check on older adults, neighbors, and those without air conditioning
✔️ Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle—even for a minute

This afternoon, we were dispatched to the Gardiner Road area for a reported brush fire

Richmond - Carolina Fire District, June 09

Exeter 2 fire was added as it was in close proximity to the Exeter town line.
First units arrived to find a working fire with an enclosed trailer in close proximity.
The fire was contained and took extra effort to mop up due to the dry conditions and deep pine needles.

No Caption We were called to assist Coventry Fire with a brush fire in the Harkney Hill section of their town

We sent Brush-614, FOG-619 and manpower to assist.
Additionally, we were added to a second brush fire in West Greenwich with E-612 and a float pump with additional manpower.
Reminder that even though we are out of what is called Brush Fire Season, the dry conditions with elevated temperatures and low humidity will lead to more severe conditions to have fires occur.... (Full Story & Photos)

Around 11:30 this morning we were dispatched for a smoke investigation in the punch bowl area , Richmond police arrived on scene reported a garage fire

A first alarm was struck prior to our arrival. First arriving units found a well involved garage. The fire was contained to a detached garage. Our E-611, E-617, T -615, T- 625, B-614 handled the call along with mutual aid from Hope Valley, West Kingston, Ashaway, Exeter # 1 and Exeter #2 along with Hope Valley Ambulance and the Providence canteen....
