Richmond -Carolina Fire District reminds everyone to help keep their four-legged family members safe during periods of extreme heat.

๐Ÿถ Pet Heat Safety Tips:
๐Ÿ’ง Always provide plenty of fresh, cool water.
๐ŸŒณ Make sure pets have access to shade or air conditioning.
๐Ÿš— Never leave a pet in a parked vehicleโ€”even for a few minutes.
๐Ÿพ Check pavement with your hand. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for their paws.
๐ŸŒ… Walk pets during the cooler morning or evening hours.
๐Ÿšจ Know the signs of heatstroke: excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse. If you suspect heatstroke, move your pet to a cool area and contact a veterinarian immediately.

Our pets depend on us to keep them safe. Help them stay cool and healthy all summer long! โค๏ธ๐Ÿพ
