- Approximately 100,000 emergency room visits occur annually due to CO poisoning.
- More than 1,200 people die each year in the United States.
- Early symptoms can include headaches, nausea and fatigue, which are often mistaken for the flu.
- Children, older adults and pets are especially vulnerable.
The good news? CO poisoning is 100% preventable!

As we head into the colder months, take steps to protect your family:
✔️ Install CO alarms on every level of your home.
✔️ Test and inspect your CO alarms regularly.
✔️ Have heating equipment inspected and serviced by a professional.
✔️ Never run vehicles, generators or fuel-burning equipment in enclosed spaces.

Don't wait for symptoms to alert you. Make sure your home is protected with working CO alarms!
